Our Journey

From Partners in Play to Empower Care Scotland

Building on Tradition, Expanding Our Reach

Since 1996, we’ve been dedicated to supporting individuals with additional needs across Lanarkshire. In 2024, we evolved from Partners in Play (PIP) to Empower Care Scotland Ltd—a transformation that better reflects our comprehensive services and expanded mission.

Why We Rebranded

Our rebranding represents more than just a name change. It embodies our commitment to providing continuous support throughout life’s journey. As Empower Care Scotland, we’re bridging the crucial gap between children’s and adult services, offering families the consistency and trust they deserve at every stage.

Our Expanded Vision

While our core mission remains unchanged—empowering people with additional needs to actively participate in community life—our new identity allows us to:

  • Provide direct support and information to families of children and young people with disabilities
  • Extend our expertise into adult services, creating a seamless transition for those we support
  • Develop independence and overcome barriers to active participation
  • Improve opportunities for individuals with additional support needs at all life stages

The Same Heart, Broader Horizons

Though our name has changed, our dedication to the Lanarkshire community and our moral purpose remain steadfast: to improve opportunities, develop independence, and overcome barriers for all individuals with additional support needs.

As Empower Care Scotland, we look forward to continuing our journey with you, now with an expanded capacity to support individuals throughout their entire lives.

Testimonials

Trusted by young people & parents throughout Scotland

“I think Empower Care Scotland offer a fantastic and vital service to children and young adults with additional needs. My daughter has always been well taken care of, and she enjoys every minute of her time when she is with the staff of Empower Care Scotland. I am always kept up to date with everything they do while they have my have my daughter. I find this very helpful as it means I can talk to her about everything she has doner while in their care. I cat praise them enough as it’s a win, win situation for us as I get the much-needed respite to recharge my batteries to continue being my best for my daughter.”
Mrs McDowell - Parent
“The staff demonstrate a real understanding of the complex issues that my son presents and always go the extra distance to ensure that the time my son spends with them is as rewarding as it can be. We would have no hesitation recommending the Empower Care Scotland service to any family looking for support with their young person.”
Scott Aged 19
“I have been with Empower Care Scotland since July 2021, and it is a privilege to work with some of the most determined young people who overcome daily challenges. The staff team are all friendly, approachable and will provide support to ensure that you are able to fully support the children and young adults in your care.”
Hazel - Staff Member
“I joined Empower Care Scotland 7 years ago; in that time, I have supported various young people in different circumstances. Groups, summer camp outings and residentials. Also, the SDS support that I am part of. In the above I have, learned to canoe, zip wire, enjoyed experiences in outdoor centre, something I would never have attempted but knowing if the young people see staff participating then they will. Throughout the years picking up valued skills and then becoming a supervisor. These young people are amazing and the more staff Pip employ, more we can support.”
